The Vietnamese American Scholarship Fund is a private 501-c(3) foundation established by a Vietnamese American who has been in the United States for more than 40 years (before and during the Vietnam War) and who uses his own savings to assist young people and scholars to pursue their field of interest. Awards are given only in a symbolic way.
There will be two Awards in the amount of $500 each given to the two winners of the essay contest, which requires the candidates to be proficient in Vietnam history and active in the community. The participant needs to submit the following:
1. A personal resume with contact information.
2. An essay entry for the contest (the essay can be written in English or Vietnamese).
3. Statement of your expectation at camp Len Duong 2005.
What: Vietnamese American Scholarship Fund Awards
Prize: Two awards worth $500.00 each.
Deadline: April 29, 2005
Eligibility: Open only to those who plan to attend Len Duong camp.
Topic: Vietnam has more than four thousand years of history. According to you, which event is the most important? Explain its significance and draw a lesson from that event that is still relevant to our time.
Specification: Essay format
. Font size 12
· From 500 to 1000 words (either single or double space).
Submit an application (form attached).
The winners’ essay will be published in Huong Viet magazine and the winners will be asked to share with campers their main aspiration for choosing their topic.
