CAMP LEN DUONG SCHOLARSHIPS

I - Goal

Aiming at the promotion of volunteerism of Vietnamese-American students and young professionals in the Vietnamese community of their locality, The School of Engineering of the Catholic University of America (CUA) established five $500.00 scholarships to be given to qualified campers of LEN DUONG Camp 2006.  Specifically, selection preference will be given to campers who are in need of financial aid.

II. Requirements and Guideline:

1.     Applicants must be Vietnamese American.

2.     Applicants must be college students or young professionals.

3.     Applicant must be active in a local Vietnamese American community organization or in a Vietnamese Student Association in the local city.

4.     Submit an application (form attached) and a personal resume.

5.     Submit an essay whose guideline is given in the application form.

6.     Submit at least one letter of recommendation from the Vietnamese-American organization in which the camper has volunteered in the past years.

7.     Campers who are selected to receive the scholarships will be named “CUA Scholar”.

8.     Scholarship will be awarded to CUA Scholars at a camp ceremony.
