Tuong Vu from Austin
We had a great Toastmaster session last night (Friday July 9, 99) with 46 members (old and new) showing up with a very special program lasted for about 2 hours and followed by social gettogether to view Len Duong'99 Video.
The toastmaster started with a Joke of the day session with anh Nong Duy Dat. After that we had Thuyen Nguyen - the Word master - discussing the word of "Love". The table topic session was conducted by anh Nong duy Dat - the Table topic master with the story of Tro.ng Thu?y My. Cha^u and what is your view of thea action of My. Cha^u.
We had four great speakers on Friday night and all of them are ladies. Ms. Tina Nguyen started the first prepared speech to share her experiences working as the Program Manager of the Center of Entrepenieur Studying at University of Houston. Following Tina Nguyen is the very inspiring speech delivered by Ms. Christine Nguyet A. Nguyen with the topic "Love, Justice and Peace". After chi Nguyet, the third speaker : Ms. Britanny Le Ngoc Bich shared with us in a very sincere and moving speech on her inspiration of getting involved with community activities, she was running for Officer in the Lien Danh Hiep Luc back in 1998 when she's four month pregnant and she's still presently active with the Officer position of the Vietnamese Community in Houston and Vicinity, even after having the baby and very busy with her family... The last speaker, Ms. Phuong A'nh, a brand new member of our group, sharing with us a part of her life story, especially she told everyone about Go` Co^ng, the town where she was born with many interesting things about that place and she also concluded her speech with a beautiful and lovely poem.
Evaluation is always very important to help us to be improved. The Evaluation session was run by a. Nguyen Quoc Doan with the four evaluators: a. Hoang Nguyen Duc, c. Phan Khanh Thu, c. Nguyen Minh Ly and a. Le Mong Hung. Everyone were very impressed with all the great speakers this time... The evaluation session was then followed by the announcement session from the President of the Toastmaster session on Friday: Dr. Ho Ngoc Tram, who is also the project coordinator of the Youth Recognition Luncheon project.
Perhaps this session was very inspiring and has all the prepared speech delivered by our lady members, there were four gentlemen already signed up for a prepared speech for next Toastmaster session (August 15, 99) (probably to balance out! :-)).
