Tom Tuong Tieu and Mrs. Tieu Cao Rose-Thuy. Extracurricular activites: ESL
volunteer teacher; member of Mime Club, Math Club, Spanish Club, and Varsity Tennis team,
Teen Court Master Juror/Lawyer; volunteer at Cerebral Palsy Center. Scholarships and
Awards: Mike Taylor Scholarship, Teen Court Scholarship, Sam Walton Scholarship,
University of Arkansas Scholarship, Texas A&M Presidential Scholarship; State of Texas
Highest Ranking Award. Special interests/hobbies: martial arts (third degree black
belt Taekwondo instructor). University & Major (plan to attend): UT at
Austin/Biology. Goal: to become a family doctor and join the Peace Corps to help people in
need in poor countries. Sharing thoughts: I would like to thank my parents and
teachers for giving me an opportunity to learn.
If I had lived under communism, I would not have had the chance to succeed. Thanks America! I encourage all young people to take advantage of the gifts this great nation has to offer.
