Salutatorian at Elsik High School, Alief ISD, born on January
14, 1981 in Houston, to Mr. Do Quang and Mrs. Do Thi Nhu Mai. Extracurricular
activities: Secretary of National Honor Society, Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta,
Treasurer of Leo Lion Club and Young Environmentalists of America; participating in
cultural and voluntary activities with Asian Dance Group for United Cultures Elsik,
Robinson Westchase Library and local hospitals. Scholarships and Awards: Target
All-Around Community scholarship, Houston Endowment-Mary Gibbs and Jesse Jones
scholarship, Terry Foundation scholarship, U. T. Excellence scholarship, National Student
Service scholarship, Alief Elsik Counselor’s scholarship, Ginger Jones Memorial
scholarship, Alief ISD Board of Trustees scholarship, Best Buy Community Scholars
scholarship; President’s Student Service Award, Most Outstanding Elsik Senior Girl,
National Community Scholar Medal, and National Merit Commended Scholar. Special
interests/Hobbies: playing piano with 12 years experience, competing at local and
regional levels, annual recitals. University & Major: U. T. at Austin/Biology
and Plan II Honors Program. Goal: to pursue a doctorate degree and contribute back
to my community and to encourage others to do so as well.
